wednesday, may 30, 2012. this is what i look like right after i ran two miles — sweaty and tired but kind of happy, too (though the happiness might not be apparent here). i absolutely love running lately. i think that hunter inspired me with his track obsession.

tuesday, may 22, 2012. before we head out to the gym, hunter and i go to the garden to survey the damage. it’s been such a tough garden year — the raised beds are parched, the squirrels are eating the plants, nothing is thriving. i am despondent over it.
monday, may 21, 2012. photo by adriana gomez piccolo, after the jon katz reading at the gallery. three gallery events this week — megan hyde’s lecture on thursday, the lecture tonight, and the embroidery workshop on saturday — and that’s alot. i’m not complaining (or maybe i am, but i don’t think so), i’m trying to find a balance of what’s-good and what’s-too-much. this whole concept of balance is quite new to me, and needed. there are a thousand forces at play that tip me out of balance.
sunday, may 20, 2012. after all of the wonderful and amazing things i did today - woke up in vermont, did embroidery in barbara’s backyard with esmee and friends, then a fantastic-ly fun barbecue here — i forgot to take a photo! now i am stuck taking one late at night on my way to bed. so silly. it was a lovely, lovely day.
saturday, may 19, 2012, 11:30pm. last photo of year 47. it was an absolutely gorgeous day, we drove up to montpelier for dinner with josh’s mom, sister, brother, brother’s girlfriend, daughter and daughter’s boyfriend. really good food and a really nice time. the weather was astounding, scenery was amazing. it felt like a vacation.
